What a spine-chilling incident last night! It was the first time an unwelcoming guest visited our house! A rat-ta-to-uile! When mum called me around 10pm (I was on my way back), I could hear her frightening voice. It was still ringing in my head. "Faster come back, a rat enters our house!" I got a shock, but did not want to sound panicky to alarm my mum further. I was quite calm surprisingly.
On hearing that, BY voluntarily accompanied me up and helped in the rat search. We listened intently to any grinding noise, if any. We even searched almost every corner where a rat could have hidden. But, to no avail. :( We gave up, listing assumption that it could have escaped. I was so frightened that I did not dare entered my room nor the bathroom.
About 1 plus, while I was playing Niwawa online, I heard noises. Turning my head to the left, I saw a big, fat, grey rat (the size of twice my palm) scampering about the old newspapers! Calling out, my dad quickly went to catch it. In just a blink of an eye, it disappeared again! My fault that I did not keep track of where it had run to. Luckily, the dustbin in the kitchen gave the rat away. The basket had tumbled over. High chance the rat would be in the kitchen. Mum saw something long and said it looked like the rat's tail. I went forward to take a closer look. Indeed it was.
Dad went to shake the things around the mouse and it scampered across the living room again! My mum and I shrieked while running away as if a mad dog was chasing us. Dad was so funny that he kept repeating, "Don't be afraid!" Dad continued to chase it out of its hiding place. The rat scampered across the living room and out of the house! Phew, finally! We all heaved a deep sigh of relief. Dad went out to take a look, worried that the rat could have entered our neighbour's house as their door was still wide open. But, too late.
I was frightened out of my wits! Luckily, the rat reappeared and it caught my attention. If not, we would not be able to sleep in peace! Imagine the rat crawling onto our bodies while we are asleep! Eee, yucks! Dad was still able to joke about it. He said that this year is the year of the Rat so it came to visit us. -_-
