ok today is my third day of work. at least today i did something useful compared to previous two days. learnt how to use their system called 'Mainframe' to print transactions. i'm wondering which smart IT geek implemented this system. really smart of him. (why him, you guys may be wondering. well, girls usually appear to be an IT idiot in people's mind. that's been a myth all along, isn't it? yet, people (including myself) still chose to believe in it.)
on my first day, i been doing reading on policies, policies and policies. how boring! ya, i understand this is the most basic rule which a new employee must abide to. so, me being a good girl tried my very best to keep myself indulged in those readings. finally, i got a better understanding of what exactly is ElderShield and Private Medical Insurance Schemes. phew! thanks to my hard work. remembering on my first day, i was totally confused by these two terms. i stressed myself up that day cos i felt pressurised without knowing anything. (i told myself, "girl, how on earth do you expect to know anything on your first day?") ok, i admit i'm overworrying. my goodness.
on my second day, i been doing reading as usual. but this time, it's not on policies but on how the colleagues reply email enquiries. wow, sounds interesting to some of you huh? in future, i will be handling email enquiries too. looking forward. we will be handling projects too, which they called it WITs. Work Improvement Teams. i hate projects! had enough of them during poly times! *freak out* anyway, my supervisor was on leave so no one had given me orientation yet! got to wait till next week when she returns.
i already had myself prepared for the upcoming busy work schedules. some of the colleagues often stayed back even after working hours. i heard one of them even stayed till 8 plus the previous day. i was shocked. these three days, i had been dismissing myself on the dot, 6pm. i'm always the first, second or third to leave the company. since i'm a new staff there, i don't really felt paiseh to leave on the dot cos they should understand a greenhorn had no piling workload yet. but in future, i don't know if i'm able to leave on the dot. i hope so. bless me!
